The push and pull between two different relationships.
Each ball was used to represent the four main characters, including the ex boyfriend who committed suicide.
Rain is present throughout the film, and is used to present supernatural or emotional change.
Initial Ideas
Norwegian Wood, presented in a form which gives each letter a different tone/feel.
Rain is a crucial figure to the novel: from the beginning to the end rain presents a supernatural or emotional change. With this idea, I aimed to present the arrows which were taken from a film reel, as rain on the front cover, and tree's on the back.
- 'idea of rain focus is good. but is there a reason for the film reel arrows? Assess your colour use + aim to use colours which compliment each other + reflect the story'
- 'Consider making a typeface' - can use the grid on book cover above.
- 'How will the text interact with the imagery?'
- 'I think the source material/imagery behind the idea is interesting + has potential, but hasn't been utilised well - none of the text has been used, so it's just a pattern with no link to the book. Reconsider the colour choice. Maybe keep it greyscale or just use one of additional colour; maybe just keep this imagery on just one side of the book cover, and use imagery more relevant to the storyline for the other'
