Sound Forms (Cedvek Erek)

Research for the ‘Beats Type’ revolved around artist who interpreted sounds and sites into other forms of media. Cedvek Erek plays with this idea in some of his projects, where he would interpret a sound and imitate into a line drawing or set of images. My type could communicate a theme or saying through visual and audio means. Through one median the type would communicate the type through a visual layering of a beat on a screen; and then also in a audio form, where the letter can be interpreted through its own individual sound.

A letterform built in response to set of beats made on an online beat making machine. The beat was ver repetitive and echoing effect to the loop. This type form, could be interpreted as an 'o' or 'c' depending on the angle you look at it, this indecisive nature of the text could be built on more by adding a build a type around this form, creating a completely different sound from the original used to make the type from. 

The idea of building a typeface which confuses the audience and forces them into making their own opinion/decision on what the letter is, could have some interesting interactive possibilities.
