Drawing Machine

Today we worked on developing our ideas for our machines. I tried gathering the materials for my laser typeface machine, which was loosely based on my heartbeat monitor type, but I couldn't find a laser which was strong enough for the test. I'm going to continue looking for a laser as I feel this machine has a lot of room for development. 

As I couldn't find the laser I so i decided to use a music beat generator app to make a typeface and see what it sounded like. This gave me the idea to transform the beat layout through using a photo editing app. This would allow me to completely recreate the layout of the text, which gave me a varied set of results with very different sounded beats. If i was to present this as my machine, I could display the five different typefaces on separate monitors with the attached beat playing off separate speakers.

 

These experiments with the beat making machine, led me to find a system similar of shape to the middle photo above of the machine, which would use the spherical lines as a form/gird to place the text on, in block like form.
