Final Typeface
This 'Frantic' typeface is built from a grid/mapping system created using distorted scans of earlier typefaces, which aims to replicate the frantic/impulsive nature of Elon Musk. The type also focuses on the isolated nature of his childhood, due to the different way his mind worked compared to other children. I have tried to communicate this through the clashing and partly hollow stems of the type. The reasoning behind making a map out of distorted images of typefaces was based on Elon Musks own description of the franticness to his creativity as being a 'never ending explosion of ideas'.

This typeface gave me an some interesting forms when applied to a logo. Here I have re-imagined the Tesla and SpaceX logo's and merged my typeface with it. The inspiration behind the SpaceX logo was based on Musks interest in 'multiplanetary species', where humans would live alongside extraterrestrial beings, where our consciousness would work alongside theirs; so I have used the 'A' from my typeface and changed the scale, making it slightly reminiscent of UFO. The Tesla Logo follows a similar format to the original, with a slight change in scale and use of my typeface. I found the logo with the snippets of logo missing created an interesting form, which communicated an idea of a business which is still 'growing towards a complete sustainable enterprise'

Putting it into context, I applied the Tesla logo to a set of business cards; and the SpaceX logo to the Flacon Heavy rocket, the flagship rocket of the company. I feel the translate onto the products effectively and look professional. I especially like the look of the new red Tesla logo on the white frame of the business card.
