Printing Ink Map Full-Size
A physical map of a domino's game, made from textures and symbols found from around leeds, printed using ink on stencils made on laser cutter. The user will match stripes to stripes; dots to dots; and squares to squares.
The idea behind the final ink print map was to, print it large enough (75cmx206cm) so that it will hang from the wall near to flaw, looking like a game that is carrying on still in the exhibition; the bold but slightly gritty glow to the ink makes it look as if the ink has been freshly printed.
(Below) Initial A1 ink print map next to final full size print. The digital print will be A1 and laid over the larger ink print so that the viewer can simply flip between the prints.
Some of the laser cut printing blocks/stencils will be placed on a plinth alongside the prints, so that people have a clear reference as to how the prints were developed, and give them a initial insight into the juxtaposition between the production between the analagoue and digital processes used to develop the two maps.
