Final Domino's Digital Print Map

Digitally Printed A1 Map

Three games of domino's made from symbols sourced from map Leeds. The domino's are made from solid colour, producing a juxtaposition between the grainy physical ink print made from the same designs on the plywood laser cut blocks.

Game 1

 Game 2

 Game 3

Game one bit-mapped; giving the print texture and depth, the following two games have been bitmapped to different frequencies shapes as well.

All three games layered over one another with different bitmap textures along with different colours for each game (cyan, magenta and yellow). Each layer has a lower opacity (1-3) so that viewer can differentiate the route of each game. The key alongside (top right) on the map gives the viewer further insight into which game is which. The choice behind a CMYK colour scheme, was to emphasise the clarity of the digitally printed map, similar to how the florescent pink brought clarity to the ink printed map. The map was printed on matt paper, as to keep the viewers eye focussed on the textures from the bitmap (the shine from gloss paper would have taken away from this); and to match the aesthetic of the plywood printing stencils.
