Chance

Dice could be used as device to determine a typeface. A set of dice would be thrown to determine the outcome of the typeface. This idea of chance/probability come from the idea that the types outcome is based on what an individual expects to happen, centring around one person’s feelings and knowledge on a subject; and how the user feels they can manipulate the chances of landing on a number which is favourable to them.

Heartbeat

I researched into how devices can be used to communicate a clear idea or instruction without using a text and Massimo Vignelli's theory that a typeface should have a rhytm/flow to it . Heart beat monitors and sound wave lines use simple line forms to communicate clear meanings; a heartbeat monitor communicates the health of person connected.

Sound wave forms communicate the potential atmosphere at one time. Sound wave forms can  communicate many different ideas using the same form; this inspired the simple 3 shape form which can be used to create multiple different type forms. Also research into spirograph and old runes and hieroglyphics inspired the aesthetic of the typeface.
